Introducing PhpWiki

PhpWiki is another wiki software written in php that can be installed easily. Pages are created and edited the same way as other wikis and also maintained in the same way.

Installing PhpWiki - Fantastico De Luxe

Step 1: Login to your Admin cPanel http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel
Step 2: Locate and click on the Fantastico De Luxe Icon
Step 3: Under the “Wiki” section, find and click on “Phpwiki”
Step 4: In the right panel, select “New Installation”
Step 5: on page 1 of the installation process, you will be prompted for the installation directory. To have “Phpwiki” installed on your website’s main page (http://www.yourdomain.com) leave it blank else, insert the directory of your choice (http://www.yourdomain.com/Phpwiki). Fill out all the required information accordingly and click “Install Phpwiki””.

Step 6: A summary of the installation details will be posted. Once read, click “Finish Installation”. You will also see the link to your “Phpwiki”; click it to start using the application.

Installing PhpWiki - Manually

The installation of PhpWiki is the easiest ever as all you have to do is to untar the downloaded file and it will work right out of the box. You can download PhpWiki here

Using PhpWiki

In order to administer PhpWiki you need to be an administrator and to do that, you will have to go to http://www.yourdomain.com/yourwikidir/admin.php and login with the default username and password (admin/admin).

From there on, you can edit the page of your choice and even delete, lock or add new pages. Also you will find various beneficial information on the main page of PhpWiki that will guide you the software and help you out with some tricks.
