Introducing FAQMasterFlex

FAQMasterFlex is a free web-based application that allows you to have a FAQ section on your website and to manage it easily. You can create unlimited categories and unlimited questions/answers of your choice. Its simple and easy-to-use administrative backend facilitates the way for you to manage your Q&A and update them in no time

Installing FAQMasterFlex – Fantastico De Luxe

• Step 1: Login to your Admin cPanel http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel
• Step 2: Locate and click on the Fantastico De Luxe Icon
• Step 3: Under the “F.A.Q” section, find and click on “FAQMasterFlex”
• Step 4: In the right panel, select “New Installation”
• Step 5: on page 1 of the installation process, you will be prompted for the installation directory. To have FAQMasterFlex installed on your website’s main page (http://www.yourdomain.com) leave it blank else, insert the directory of your choice (http://www.yourdomain.com/faq). Fill out all the required information accordingly and click “Install FAQMasterFlex”.

• Step 6: A summary of the installation details will be posted. Once read, click “Finish Installation”. You will also see the link to your FAQMasterFlex application.

Installing FAQMasterFlex – Manually

• Step 1: Go to the download section of FAQMasterFlex website, and get the latest version.
• Step 2: Uncompress the downloaded file to a specified directory on your desktop.
• Step 3: Upload the extracted files (keeping the directories structure intact) to your web hosting account via FTP to a specified directory of your choice (e.g. /faq).
• Step 4: Login to your Admin cPanel, locate and click on MySQL Databases.
• Step 5: Create a MySQL database and save its name along with the username and password for future use.
• Step 6: After successful database creation, open “phpmyadmin”, select the newly created MySQL database, then copy the content of the file “faqmasterflex.sql” and paste them into the SQL tool so that the tables in the database are successfully created.
• Step 7: Open the “faq_config.php” file and edit the MySQL connection variables according to your pre-defined settings. Be sure that these variables are correct as most of the errors are a result of incorrect MySQL server name, MySQL user name, or MySQL password
• Step 8: Using your browser, go to the location of your newly uploaded files (step4): http://www.yourdomain.com/faq/

The default username: admin
The default password: admin

Using FAQMasterFlex

• Create Category

To add a category, simply:

1. Login to the admin backend with your username/password
2. Click on “Add Category”
3. A popup will be displayed asking for the category name.
4. Write the name of your choice and click “Add”

• Add Q&A to a Category

To add a Q&A to an existing category, simply:

1. login to the admin backend with your username/password
2. Click on the category of your choice.
3. Click on “Add New FAQ to Email Questions”
4. A popup will be displayed, fill in the Question and the Answer section and click “Add”

• Edit Category

To edit an existing category, simply:

1. Login to the admin backend with your username/password
2. Click on “Edit Category”.
3. A popup will be displayed, select the category of your choice.
4. Edit the name of the category and click “update”

• Delete Category

To delete an existing category, simply:

1. Login to the admin backend with your username/password
2. Click on “Delete Category”.
3. A popup will be displayed, select the category of your choice.
4. Click “Delete”

Backup FAQMasterFlex database

• Step 1: Login to your hosting account cPanel, locate and click on the “PhpMyAdmin” icon.
• Step 2: From within PhpMyAdmin, choose the FAQMasterFlex Database.
• Step 3: On the top menu of the database table list, click on “Export”
• Step 4: In the export options, make sure you:
  • “Select All” Tables
  • Check “Structures” property.
  • Check “Data” property.
  • Check “Save as” option
• Step 5: Once you double check that all the options in step 4 are set, click Go and save to the file to your desktop.
